It seems like neck scarves are coming back in fashion. I noticed several racks of them at Belk's the other day. When I was in high school (late 70s-early 80s) they were in fashion where I lived too. We would get them and place them around our necks without looping them and tie little balls on the ends. Boy, we really thought that was cool, back in the day!

It could be that they've been in for a while, I never really know what's in fashion. But I really like the way they look. I think I'm going to look for a few to buy next time I'm out.

I just love scarves! I wear them so often, lol.
They can "draw" me with their eyes closed with scarves. I have a very cute one made of yarn, it is crocheted and SO easy I am going to make some myself. Not now but later, too much to do, lol

I also have a couple of those pashmina style scarves I wear often. They brighten any outfit

I've just recently become addicted to scarves...one beautiful burgundy colored one in particular. My sister was over for a visit last month, and pointed out that I was wearing the scarf even though it didn't match my outfit.....so yup, I'm THAT addicted to it! Wear it with everything, lol.

The ones I saw in Belk's were a bit pricey, but oh so nice. I think I'll wait on a sale for those, but I'm going to look elsewhere for some this weekend.

I love the pashmina style scarves, that's the kind they had at Belk's. I think they look very chic and can dress up anything. I think I have to have one or two. hehe

Jodi, I think I might be just like you after I get some.

Lainey--
Hehe..I have a ton of those, a couple favorites though ;)ROFL When I was in ID for school, it the "thing" to wear them for seminars and whatnot. I have some really pretty ones. The best place I've found them and cheaply is Ross. They sure do have some gorgeous ones. There was a pink one I saw somewhere with butterflies on it that was just gorgeous. I didn't buy it then and sure wished I had because now I can't remember where I had seen it..LOL

I often tie a scarf to my purse handle, a la Legally Blonde. I also tie one in my hair. I don't think I'd like it around my neck. You can often find nice scarves at Goodwill.

Blessings!

I wear silk scarves all winter, my hubby too! But they are more kerchief style I guess. A square of silk you fold in half, triangle way, then wrap around and knot. You can knot them a few different ways to change the look up. Keeps the cold from going down your shirt! I have a cowgirl one I weawr to town and just got a small purple flower print one that I have been wearing lately. Hubs got a red and white polk-dot one and it looks great on him lol Silk scarfs or wild rags they are called too, are sold in so many different colors and prints. Some even in big bold flowers for the guys.. :)

I love wearing mine and feel naked without it, even as it starts to warm up, I still automattically grab for my scarf. lol

I used to wear scarves to dress up knit tops back in the 70's. I was watching "A Perfect Day" yesterday on PBS (Scandinavian cooking show that used to be called "New Scandinavian Cook"). One of the cooks, Sara from Finland, was wearing beautiful scarves as headbands. It was really pretty and a great way to use scarves too.

Well, I bought 3 new scarves this weekend. Found one at Claires and 2 at a shop moving locations and only paid half price! I wore one yesterday to church and it really added a nice touch to the outfit I was wearing. I'm glad these are coming back, they've probably been back in style for a long time and I'm just now catching up on it. hehe

I love scarves- especially the ones the MaryJanes wears, but I am so fashion-scared that I never wear them. I need to just buck up and wear what I like!

The one at Claire's was black with shiny stripes running through it and fringes on the end. I wore that one yesterday. And the other 2 I bought at Deb's... one was black with tannish designs on it and the other one was bright aqua blue with fringes on it. Can't wait to find something to wear that last one with. I do have a tie down top with that same color blue, but not sure that would go together well.

I too wear scarves....the "silky" ones. I like the long ones that are 8" -10" wide. I just drape it around my neck.......and I'm set. I have some problems with my neck, and have had neck surgery, and it's surprising how warm a thin one will keep my neck. I LOVE them....probably have 15-18. I buy them mostly at estate sales....and occasionally at Ross.

lately, i've been wearing the thin sashes (ment for belts) as headbands. its a cute, rock-a-billy look and a lot of fun.

I have a silky scarf that I fold and wear like a loosely tied man's tie. I'm also embroidering a bandana like in one of the past MJF issues. At the rate I'm going, it might be next year before I can wear it! (Embroidery is my form of meditation--and a lot more productive than just sitting still!).

Oh, I love scarves! My daughter brought me 2 from India last summer and now I am addicted to wearing them! I love long ones and just through them on with just about anything! Lainey, I find great gossimer scarves at "hippie" shops like the natural health shops, or the crazy little indie shops that import. So cheap.... so chic!!! Much cuter than the ones I wore in highschool and college in the 70's! LOL!
