I really did not think there was such a thing, as far as I was concerned, I LOVE ALL FRUITS/VEGTABLES or at least I thought I did. My sweet daughter came up to visit and brought me some Mangos, never had any before, they looked ok, smelled , not like anything else I could remember, and tasted like #@!&*#!??#*. I could not get the taste out of my mouth awful, so My daughter tasted mine just to make sure it was'nt my piece of fruit, and she says "Thats the way they are supposed to taste", OMG, I ate a mouthfull of extra hot horsradish to kill the taste, and it was still there, I tried everything and was ready to try dirt, when my d-in-law handed me a nasty throat lozenger, and that finally worked. Well this really suprised me, cause I AM NOT PICKY and I will eat pretty much anything. So stupid me said, maybe I should give it another chance, so my daughter cut up another one, I took another bite and immediatly ran to the trash can and spit it out, now I gotta get that taste out again, OMG, another very nasty throat lozenger. Never, ever again will I try another piece of mango, or maybe no other "exotic" fruit period, LOL.

for me its always been the oppisite. I was never much on fruits and veggies other than a small handful of them. It's only been the last year that i have started to try new ones Infact, had my first necterine the other day. pretty good, but i'm big on texture and need to get use to that.

I haven't found a fruit or vegetable that I don't like. Some I like better than others..but I like them all. My best friend in Calif said the same thing about Mangos..she hates them. I love them. She said they taste like an old pine tree. That cracks me up that you tried a second peice..sounds like something I would do.

Mine is sweet potatoes. I know almost everyone loves them. I have tried and tried, but they just don't go down. I have baked ,fried, casseroled, steamed, etc. and they are just not for me. Thats the only one I can think of. I do have to be careful with high citrus fruits becasuse I have ulcers and I guess the lack of some enzymes.

I'm not fond of Mangoes either. I think they taste kinda like pine needles, which is weird because I like gin...well gin and tonic.

I don't like eggplant.

It's not about being perfect, but enjoying what you do. Set aside time to be creative.

Kale. I know it's good for you, but I just don't like it. Maybe I just haven't found the right way to fix it.

Parsnips!!
I do like most things though, EXCEPT olives of any color or description. I swear they must taste different to most people than they do to me. Terrible, nasty things! LOL

I feel almost cliche saying this now, but Okra and Eggplant. YUCK!! The only way I can eat eggplant is in eggplant parmesan. In that case, you can't taste the eggplant at all which would be the reason I can stomach it. Okra is any form.....EWWW!!!!

Oh goodness...I like most of the things that everyone else doesn't!

I love rutabagas!

What I don't like is strawberries, really all berries and melon. I know...everyone thinks I'm crazy here too.

~~ ~~ One time when we had a bad hurricane, and the elec. was out for over 3 weeks, we had to Really come up with some bright ideas for food -- an' somebody gave us some canned beets..I didn't tell anybody else but our immediate family ('cause you never know what'll happen in you tell the wrong person..) that those things tasted like run-over-smashed-pulp. OMG --

An' don't get me goin' on okra either...

And as a matter of fact, I think I'm scared of rutabegas -- look! -- I can't even spell the name of 'em right!! -- And there was also the time where somebody gave us some fresh turnips..which I tried to boil down to "taste better" -- Ugh!! --! Look, I earn my grey hair...

I love ALL veggies except eggplant. Not that I don't like eggplant, there is nothing about eggplant to like. It only taste like what ever you cook it in. I love to grow eggplant though. I pick the eggplant, but several in a basket, set them on the kitchen counter. When they start to look bad, I dump them and replace them with fresh. I think they are the prettiest of the veggies. I use them like a flower arangement. I have entered them in the county fair and won Grand Champion. I just don't eat them.

Figs! I like them in newtons, but don't ask me to use real figs because I CANNOT get passed the way they look when they're sliced. Like a freakin' alien or something!

Artichokes. Yuk. Also alien looking. Oh, and the slimy greasy avocado. I KNOW it's a source of "good fat" but I don't like em'.

Y'all are so funny! I can't really think of any fruits or vegetables that I HATE. Sometimes I hate the way they are cooked/prepared by other people but in general, I like them all.

I do agree with Belle about eggplant being pretty, but they are kinda pointless. Just something to stretch out the meal I guess. Filler.

And Jonni, I am the opposite of you with figs. When I was little my sister or brother told me that the little crunchies in fig newtons were bugs, so I can't stand eating them now, but I think fresh figs are beautiful!

Eggplant, ( except MOM's Eggplant parmesan, I do eat a little of that) peas, lima beans, watermelon, ( I know- who doesn't like watermelon, right?!)olives, butternut squash..... I do like okra, properly breaded and fried , and in gumbo. Yep, I'm a southern girl through and through. I have never even tried parsnips, rutabaga, rhubarb,or kale.
And my favorite veggie? Macaroni and Cheese!! (You know, here in the South, macaroni and cheese is often listed in the "vegetables" portion of menus; no kidding :) )
