I watched only a few seconds of this video last night and cried and felt awful the rest of the evening. We need some farmgirl intervention on this. It was posted all over facebook and the last I heard was that the farmer and some of his workers were arrested.
Warning-hard to watch the outright cruelty in this video. Calling this man an animal would be an insult to animals. He needs to never own another living creature for the rest of his life.

I couldn't even get through half the video. It makes me so sick that anyone can do this to a denfensless animal. And it doesn't even make sense...WHY hurt animals that are your livelihood? Why hurt an animal that is just sitting there doing nothing?!

Well, I read what it says here and it's horrible. I hope they have taken the poor cows and calves away from this place. I sure hope they are not still there. And it said it's an animal sale place not an actual dairy? Oh my goodness, I wonder how many more place exist just like this one. And to laugh about it is even worse. These people should be put in a cage and treated just exactly like they treat the poor cows. Exactly the same. Why can't we do that to animal abusers? What's wrong with this country?

Also could not find where to sign a petition. I clicked on signatures but only saw those who had already signed. I am not computer smart so need help with this.

Thanks, Kris

If you click on the link, the video comes up on the left side and the petition comes up on the right side.

I could only watch until the guy started beating the cow over the head with a pry bar. Stomping the baby calf was bad enough but I had to stop right there. I have been following this news story. The cheese makers that buy the majority of their milk dropped them when this story came out. However the owner is trying to act innocent and lots of stuff on the internet says he is on the video kicking one of the cows in the head (she was down) around 1:30 on the video. Also the local humane society did an inspection this week but didn't find much but now it is coming to light that they are being charged with improper disposal of dead cows. They didn't bury them deep enough and the recent rains have brought them to the surface. So I am thinking that when the undercover guy quit they freaked out and shot all the cows that showed signs of abuse incase they were reported to the authorities. Nothing like a guilty conscience as a motivator.

I definitely think this is somthing we should keep up on- Let's not let the media response die about this. The more uproar there is about this and the longer it lasts the harsher the local authorities and law makers will have to react to satify the general population.

There is a lot of conversation about it over at www.fuglyblog.com

Thanks for the link Alee, you are right. We need to keep the pressure on. That blog spot has some phone numbers and other information. Again, I am sorry for the disturbing video. I literally cried and felt sick last night after I watched only a few seconds of it. But, this is how we stop this and make a difference...by not being silent.

Thank you for your strong words, Channah. I cannot watch the video....this kind of horrible abuse is so beyond my comprehension that it fuels such anger in me. It is so sick and I find it very difficult to even classify the abusers as human beings, because that just doesn't seem possible. I'm sick to my stomach and ache so for the beloved animals that have to endure such atrocities. I pray that God will lay his hands on these beloved animals and heal their wounds. Life in prison and recieve the exact same treatment seems too lenient. Hugs for all of you, Lin

I won't watch this one b/c the one video from Vermont a few months back had me throwing up here at the office...

They're everywhere. And they continue to operate this way b/c of the lackadaisical oversight of our USDA and the simple fact that we have forgotten "where" and "what" our food comes from. We're so de-sensitized that we think milk just appears in cartons, or that beef is simply for our perusal in stores. We don't comprehend that if we drink milk, we also support the veal trade or many other things that happen to these animals who supply and become our food. When faced with the ugly truth, it makes you angry and makes you want better--for these animals and our food source. Start making some serious noise.

I saw the post and read the responses and I agree I can't watch the video either. I am repulsed physically, emotionally, spiritually and mentally by this sickness of being cruel to animals; any animals.

I cannot comprehend what kind of human being can do this; if you can call that kind of person a human being. What makes a person do that?

A while back I watched in horror a documentary called Food Inc. I had to turn the television off.

What can we do as individuals? Or as a group? How can there be regulation put in place that can be enforced? Is that even realistic? I am a firm believer in the idea that we can make a difference but where does one start?

I sent an email to the Ohio Department of Agriculture's Dairy Division demanding an answer to the problem "without lofty political" promises. I also contacted the state representatives for that district. Sad, but this is very near the state capital, Columbus. One of the employees is being held on $100,000 bond and 11 counts of animal cruelty, but Ohio has very lax animal cruelty laws and they are only misdemeanors, not felonies.

Keep emailing, keep calling. As I said above, make a lot of noise.

I absolutely agree with Melody that we have to find a way to do something now. This is happening over and over again, and is so quickly forgotten. I feel that working in numbers is best in situations like this. I think we need to work as a group and maybe the place to start is through one of the Animal Activist Groups or Animal Protection Groups. I'm not sure how to start this. Any suggestions? Hugs, Lin

I saw this vid on another site and just can't get it out of my head. I'm sorry, but we're farm/ranch girls here and we have to be tough and face things head on. If you can, watch the whole vid. Believe me, it will keep you charged up about this. I'm glad the cheese people dropped them. I'm glad the guy is being held on bail.

I don't understand why the owner would let this stuff happen (he KNEW, I have no doubt). Those cows are worth small fortunes and a herd can easily be worth/cost half a million dollars. There has to be an insurance angle or something.

I don't like cattle, per se (strange for a ranch girl, eh??), but I don't like any sort of abuse.

For some 'venting'-type of entertainment, please read my blog, http://lostadventuresintrucking.blogspot.com .

I happened to accidently see it on the news while waiting for the weather. After seeing it I turned off the tv and cried. I can't get that vision out of my head. There are alot of people in the world who find animal cruely fun. I just don't get that mind set. I am going to go sign the petition too. They should make animal cruelty a felony offense. All I know is I feel absolutely sick. I hope their is such thing as Karma.

People like this should be locked up and throw away the key. If they can do these cruel acts to innocent animals they will (and probably have) to other people. I say eye for and eye, and tooth for a tooth.

Um, I'm not understanding why anyone feels the need to punch/slap/kick ANYTHING living. It's obvious that whomever is in this video has extreme psychological problems, and they should be punished as severely as possible.

And, I pray to God they don't have children.

After working for a horse Rescue I can tell you that it take ALOT of noise for anything to happen. We took extremely abused horses from the same man four times and the judge would award us the animals but he never did do anything but fine the man. The judge wouldn't even forbid the man to own any more horses. So we would end up there again after about 9 months. People just don't care. I am sorry but I can't watch the video. After two years at a rescue it is just to hard to get past all the abuse. The rescue I worked for is still trying to prosecute a man the tied a horse to the back of a trailer and dragged her until she fell, then he backed the trailer over the horse and then shot her in the head four times, he then tried to pull the trailer off her (she was still alive) and when he couldn't he just unhooked the trailer and left her there. We got her and after 17 surgeries she is in a wonderful home but the courts keep giving the man extensions. He has yet to come to trial. Until the judges and politicians care there isn't alot we can do. I will sign the petition and pray that something will be done.
