We get our wheat seeds from Bountiful Garden www.bountifulgardens.org They are Heirloom, untreated, open-polinate. This year we are trying Kamut, Early Stone Age, and Red Vernal Emmer. I'm so excited! Can't wait to harvest, grind, and bake!

I would LOVE to grow my own wheat here. But I don't think we can because of the high humidity. I just read someone's blog about them growing wheat. It looks so pretty all cut and tied together. We buy our wheat in bulk from Montana. I grind it to make bread. I am almost out of hard white. Some mothy looking creatures got in my last bag and I had to throw most of it to the chickens. I was heartbroken.
Have you already planted the grains? I would love to hear the "rest of the story".

Kristin, I was told to put the wheat in the freezer...Or in an air tight container. I just ordered a cool top to make an airtight container from a new plastic paint bucket. I also want to grow wheat. deborah
