Hello All,
I am a new Farmgirl, and very thrilled to be so. I do not live on a farm, but it has been my dream my entire life. Instead, I have had small gardens where ever I have lived. I love dirt. Do you love dirt? Is it weird to love dirt?
Hugs,
Terri

Welcome Terri! I know you are going to love being a Farm sister. There are so many wonderful women here...all from different places, backgrounds and ways of living. Each has a talent that they share whether it is a recipe, working with yarns, fabric, animals, furniture, gardening....and the list could go on and on.What is so neat is that the subjects always change, and there is at least one person here that can help problem solve different situations that come up. So.....let me just welcome you to a whole new world and bunches of marvelous ladies.

Hi Terri - welcome... There are so many amazing women on this site. You will be amazed. My guess would be that everybody here likes dirt - so you are definitely not weird or alone... Enjoy!

I love the smell of the soil and the feel of it on my bare hands as I work in the garden and the wonderful food and beautiful flowers it produces. Our outdoor garden is covered by a couple of feet of snow now so I have to make do with a couple of dozen house plants. If loving dirt is weird, you've found a group of kindred spirits here. Welcome from Minnesota.

Welcome Terri! Glad you found this site. We have lots of giggles, share a few tears and just enjoy each others company so much. It's a great place to spend a cold winters day. Enjoy!

Hi Terri, I'm new to this forum as well, but have had a magazine subscription for 2 years now. And, yes I love the dirt, too. Became a Master Gardener and surprised my entire family!

Janet, welcome to the groups. Golly, it is great that you are a Master Gardener. Think I would really like to do that. So I am sending both you Janet and you Terri a virtual flower from my garden....a poppy.

Thank you Ruth! I've been going through the pictures of my flowers too, as it AGAIN is snowing outside and 21 degrees. It is afterall winter. My husband loves the snow and would move further north if he could. (What is the matter with that man?) I need to be getting out with the grass, veggies, trees, flowers, birds, weeds and gophers. Oh well....not everything is perfect!

Hello Terri,

It's -35 here today and I have been digging and re-potting house plants so I can smell the dirt. I love it too. It's the only way I make it through our long cold winters. I have found so much helpful information here I know you will love it like I do.

Blessings to you,
Marji

Hi I'm a new farm girl from east Texas . I'm so excited to find new friends here . I raise Nigerian dwarf goats and have a small hobby farm filled with my favorite things . I love antiques , gardening , reading , cooking and anything homemade . One of the best things I have done this year is go to Waco and take classes there at their homestead school . It's fantastic , if you want to learn how to do anything the women there no how to do it . I'm going back in April to take their cheesmaking classes .

Greetings from Maine,
where most of the dirt is covered with about 6 feet of snow.
I too love dirt--though I could use less on my car right now.

Glad to have you here Terri and all newcomers.

I have only been around for a couple months myself.
It's fun. I know you'll like it.

Warmly,

Karen
