Christy added these comments on facebook. She really is a walking marvel...her heavenly Father has stepped in, where her earthly father would have, if he had not passed last November.

"It takes the reality of losing my hair to give me the courage to get a really short haircut. I am enjoying it. Earrings are bringing me such joy lately. With the years of long hair I could never really show them off. Now I like to get dressed with makeup and earrings in the morning. I guess I can call this a cancer silver lining. So I don't want to waste a moment to give my God glory for walking me through this cancer journey. I know that I would be a heap of nerves and tears every day with out my Father giving me hope for the future. I know that whatever the outcome, God is good and I will be fine..."

This is an update on Christy....for tomorrow..Tuesday. The note was posted by her husband.

Tomorrow is a big day for our family. It starts with an MRI test (to see if cancer has spread) followed by Christy’s first chemo session. Please pray for the results of the test to be cancer free. Also pray that Christy handles the chemotherapy well, both physically & emotionally. Pray also for me as a husband and father to rise to the occasion being generous to give whatever is needed.

Speaking of generosity, Christy and I have been overwhelmed as we’ve been loved by so many, so well. Thank you all for the love fleshed out in practical service, meals, childcare, gifts, cards, kind words, prayers, The Vine peeps sporting the “Team Christy” t-shirts at church, and the Hat Party that followed. You can see some of the pictures of the Hat Party on facebook. We feel rich in relationship, and deeply loved.

Thank you Deborah. She started chemo yesterday through the port in her chest. It is hard to know that what might help her is really a poison that kills cells. The church has been so good to care for the family. it is really seeing Christianity in action. The other part is to see it here also as you pray for Christy, Jeromy and the kids. Thanks again.

This is a update on Christy, my Pastor's wife. As you read, I hope that you continue to pray for all that have this horrible disease.

"Today she receives her 2nd round of chemo. We are on an every other Tuesday chemo schedule for the next month and a half. After her first chemo treatment, she was pretty tired, a little nausea, etc for the first week. But the 2nd week was fairly normal with her feeling great the past few days.

On another note, the MRI scan revealed some suspicious lumps in her other breast. There will be a biopsy this Thursday. Please pray not only for the result, but that it would go smoothly. The spots are small, so collecting a sample may be tricky.

Thanks for praying. --Jeromy"

I saw Christy this morning. She is a beautiful young woman with clear alabaster skin, red eyebrows and eyelashes and a kerchief on her head. Yesterday was another round of chemo. She said that with each dose, it makes her more sick. She said another thing she notices is an increasing amount of depression lasting at least 3 days after the chemo. They are still monitoring her other breast...so another MRI tomorrow. She has such a good attitude. This week, the kids are off to Gramma's,except her 1 yr old baby, allowing her to rest. Nini had sent me some books dealing with breast cancer and survival. I was so glad to be able to give them to her representing MJ Farmgirls. I also gave her my last copy of MJ Farm magazine, so she could see what draws us to be a group, such as we are. I'm hoping that I can still find another copy in the store. Anyway, please continue to pray for Christy.

Another friend here from Deer Park, will be having a double mastectomy next Wednesday for cancer. She was my boss. She lost her husband in Jan'10, and discovered her lump last November. She opted to have the chemo first and then the mastectomy...a reversal of Christy's treatment. So...Colleen also needs prayer. thank you for any extra prayers you can send heavenward for these ladies.

Claudia, Thanks for the update - and Nini thank you so much for sending the books out!
Can we do a card shower for both of these ladies to let them know personally that we are praying for them? I personally would love to do this.
How can we go about getting addresses? E-mail you Claudia?
Thanks - praying for these two precious ladies.
Hugs, Ruth

Claudia, we are all sisters of a kind. We can all imagine what it would be like to have breast cancer. The new cancer numbers are scary and we can all feel compassion for another sister going through such an ordeal. Thank you so very much for being such a loving friend to Christy and Colleen, for sharing their stories and need for prayer and compassion and encouragement. In sending loving prayer or healing wishes and thoughts to them, perhaps we can share their burden just a bit.

What month are you needing Claudia, I can see if they have it at our co-op here and send it to you
It would be no trouble, just let me know before Monday. And let us know if there is anything that we can do to help.

Love and hugs

Thank you Diane. Colleen's surgery is this Wednesday. As I may have said, she went with the chemo first. Two of her daughters are close by. Her husband passed away a year ago January, so she will rely on her daughters and some close friends during her recoup. Christy is younger, and I think she may feel she needs to push herself a little too hard. Afterall she is a preacher's wife. She tries to be at church every Sunday and of course always has a smile on her face for all. She does stay home when not feeling well, and stays at the back of the church. All are award that if they have a cough or a sniffle that they wave to her from afar, since her immune system is low. Thanks for continued prayers.

Claudia...I will email u 4 both their addresses.

I just signed up 2 b a Chemo Angel and am waiting for my assignment. Elizabeth posted that Jacob has them. Maybe you could get them Chemo Angels also. What a wonderful way to love someone through this difficult time. Just Google Chemo Angel and you can get all the info.

Prayers for both your friends.
