Somewhere there was a thread going with views posted from your kitchen window. I could not find it again, so I am posting here. Here is a view from the window over my kitchen sink:

We have an old farm, so our barns are very, very old. We have a lot of work to do here. We don't have the luxury of good soil every where we garden either. I should post a photo of the garden where we have our pumpkins this year. It's very dry and full of stones. Each year we add more manure, compost etc. It's been a long process, yet we still have vegetables or fruit growing in it.
Here is a photo taken from the back of the property, from the woods. You can see the work we have to do regarding the barns.
Please share your views.

Beautiful views!!!! Oh what I wouldnt do to look out my kitchen window and see a nice old barn like that. I can only imagine the work that goes into trying to maintain a property like that, but coming from a girl from the "burbs"....I'm jealous!

Wow, I love your farm. It is so charming! Just because it is old does not mean it is bad. I adore old places, because you can feel a true connection to the past in them. Just wonderful. I hope you and your family have a wonderful journey restoring your homestead, but always remember to leave a "little bit of old".

Great pictures. Old barns are an obsession of mine. Any time we travel, I pull over to take pictures of old barns. We have a few of our own, too. In fact one isn't even safe to enter anymore! When we moved, I got a view of my dog run and the neighbors back yard. Not picture worthy...lol. what a lovely farm you have. I would give my left leg to drink my coffee looking out at your wonderful old barns!
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Those were such nice photos...I will try and remember to post of photo of my view...nothing spectacular but WAY better than the brick building and graffiti I used to see out the window of my old home in Brooklyn, NY :0)!
Just a Brooklyn, NY gal trying to figure out this country thing after 12+ years in the woods of NE PA! Wife of my HS sweetie going on 23 years and mom to the amazing four ages 19(g), 17(s), 14(s), 13(s)!

Beautiful view! Where-abouts is Wayne Oh. I live in Louisville,in NE Oh(pronounced Lewis-ville)It's in Stark Co.

The view out my back window is not my ideal. It is vacant houses. They are not the most sightly things.
I will tell you what I do love though: the sounds of living on base. We live on the base that is the Navy's bootcamp. I lve that every morning at 8 the world stops while the National Anthem in played. When the sun sets, evening colors are played. And at 10:00 you can hear the sound of Taps being played, soudning that it is time to retire for the evening. I can hear the recruits marching, hear them singing cadence. It brings me back to when I was in bootcamp in the very same place, on the very same base. It makes me proud of my service and proud to be married to a man who still proudly serves this country, and proud of all those hopeful recruits, serving to defend our great nation.

Wow! Thank You Liz. I just saw your neighborhood thru military-proud eyes! Thank You again! It gives new meaning to, "Bloom Where You Are Planted!" You certainly have! To hear the National Anthem & Taps on a daily basis.....I can't find the words, but I have goose-bumps! Thank You again! A Big Hug for you!

My view right now is of my Garden, struggling to do anything, but on the bright side,,, it is also a wonderful view of a mama & papa Blue Birds bringing grubs & catapillers into the little bird house (we set up for them in the garden) to feed their younguns.....

Thanks for the "Memories" Julia. It reminds me of our Summer vacations out west EVERY Summer. My fav?....Arizona!! I'm a sand-beetle, what can I say! lol

This is a back yard barbecue area you can see from my kitchen window. Sometimes the employees and of course friends and family will gather back here and celebrate another hard hot week of working. Or a celebration for birthdays and holidays. I love just sitting on the swing hanging from the big oak tree sipping on a glass of cold iced tea and work on my embroidery. Or just relax and read a magazine. Or either when no one is looking cuddle and kiss with my handsome husband LOL....

My kitchen faces the front of the house. I love the views of your barns Kristina. Would think I had gone to heaven to look out and see that space. So pretty.

| Oh, the view of the old barns is wonderful!! I love old red barns. Your farm is quite bucolic. From the postings you have done this summer, it sounds like your garden has been performing above average considering the heat and drought. Please post some photos again in the fall when the leaves change! |
