UPDATE!!!!! The mediation is tomorrow am. She is sooo nervous. Has to face him there alone with mediator. Her husband is not allowed in the room. Only my daughter and her ex. Her husband is waiting in the court parking lot for her tho in case it does get ugly! Original prayer request: May I ask for prayer for my daughter? She is about to go to court this AM re: custody situation with her daughter. All should go well. But it will be tough emotionally as the father was severely abusive to my daughter in the past. All this will come out today and how he reacts to this fact that its out in open court is scary. Please pray all goes well and that the courts protect my grandaughter from exessive visits with him etc. He is moving out of state and wants more visitation than my daughter wants him to have, especially so far away. THANK YOU all so very much!!

Linda I'll be glad to send some prayers. Please send some our way too. My GD will have her first supervised visit with her mom in 2.5 years next Friday. She will be 3 the end of July. It is so hard to watch our children and grandchildren have to cope with these situations. I'll send a prayer or two for you too! Connie

Oh Linda I will be praying that all will be right with the court appearance today and that the judge see all the past evidence of the father's behavior. This is never easy and I understand when it is your daughter and grand daughter - today's world makes it so hard on the children - I thoughts and prayers are with your family. Word of warning make sure that you have something in place incase his behavior get's out of control. I worked in the court system with protecting children and the parent with custodial care - you really need to have plans in place.
My word Connie - I had no idea and my heart aches... I send prayers to you and yours for a smooth visit and for peace to reach your family. As I said above this world is just making it so hard for families - I do not know the history I just know that this type of stress in the family can get in the way of loveing each other... Love and light to you and yours...

Linda I had to check back to see if all is well. My thoughts have been on several of us farmgirls today. I've had a quiet day alone (For a change!) so my thoughts have wondered where they will. I hope to hear some good news though I know the experience was stressful for all no matter the outcome.
Grace-Thank you for your concern for us. My son has custody of my GD and is doing a wonderful job. She is happy healthy and well adjusted. Even so we worry the visits will be disruptive to her well being. At the same time we know she needs to know who her mommy is, good or bad. As you said todays world is so hard on the little ones sometimes. I expect I'll be leaning on you sisters in the next few weeks... Connie

I know it's probably too late to pray for the court appearance, but I've prayed for your family in general! :) HUGS!

Ladies, so sorry to take so long in getting back here. Ther is A LOT going on within my family this summer. Thank you so very much for prayers. Connie, you are in my thoughts as well.
My daughter received custody, however they have 2 more court dates to final the visitation. Looks like he will get all summers and most holidays. Very scary as he is moving out of state once this is all final. It is very hard to know that you have to let go at times and let the system dictate.
Prayers to all and thank you so much!
Blessings, Linda

Well, thank you all so very much for your prayers and support.
The mediator is recommending to the court to basically allow the ex all the visitaion he has asked for. Also, told him that he can drink and smoke pot while she is there so long as she does not see. Well she always does. Anyway, his family will most likely also be suing her for visitation rights as well. His family are alcoholics and drug addicts that at this point have no desire to change or attempt recovery. Yesterday was a rough day for us.
God has His reasons and we have to accept that. It is hard, believe me. Lots of tears still.
He loves my grandaughter far more than any of us can. He knows what is best and how He may use her in all these circumstances, I guess.
Blogged most of my thought if you would like to share with them
God's blessings to you! Linda www.scatteredlittleblessings.blogspot.com

I don't understand why it is OK for him to engage in illegal behavior - whether your GD is in the room or not. That mediator must have a screw loose!
