Oh Nini, prayers going out for your whole family. I'm so sorry. Most of my in-law's side of the family are diabetic. But my hubbys parents are not insured either. That really does make every incident twice as terrifying. It's not being able to work, pay medical bills, and they fight going to the Dr tooth and nail. God is good, God is faithful! He can provide a way where we see no possible way. So, praise God for the plan He has for your fosters family, and the amazing praise report you will share in His time. For now, please feel the hugs I'm sending you my sweet friend.
The tears I shed then, watered the flowers I harvest now.

Thank you SO much, girls! I'm thankful to have your prayers and support!
Just a little good news came today: My foster son was accepted for health insurance through Welfare, and they're going to make it retroactive to July 1, so they won't have these huge medical bills looming over them in the midst of all of this. And my foster daughter said it will cover medications, too. Phew. BIG relief. Just a great bit of news - my foster daughter, especially, really needed it. I am really surprised that even though they both work full time he qualified for this assistance - and I'm very grateful for it.
I'll keep you all posted as I know more. Thanks so much again - and God bless you all!
Hugs -

I am so happy he qualified as well. It's really sad in this country we have to be so scared to be/get sick cause it can just be such a huge mess if we can't afford it or can't afford insurance, or if like me even if you have insurance it barely covers anything so feels worthless any way!

Hi Girls -
Well, here goes:
Our foster son saw the doctor today. It's not throat cancer. Which is kind of good. They are waiting for the rest of the pathology, and they needed to send out for further testing. They should have answers some time next week. The doctor believes he has some form of lymphoma, but at this point cannot say which type. Compared to having throat cancer, this is apparently good news, because, in general, lymphoma is supposed to be easier to treat and has a higher success rate of healing. They were told to start looking for an oncologist, and my foster daughter already has a name - a recommendation of a good friend.
My foster daugther is very shaken up, but also relieved it's not throat cancer. She said that when there is cancer in the lymph nodes, it's always better that it hasn't spread from another part of the body. Although they are as of yet unsure that is the case, they both are taking this as a good sign. She said our foster son has a very positive attitude and is taking this as good news. He just really didn't want to hear that it is throat cancer. I'm sick to my stomach over this and just want to curl up in bed and have a good cry. My foster daughter said she told our foster son that no matter what they hear next week, if there is treatment, he has to do it - no questions asked. I told her also that I will drive him to and from treatment, and sit with him during it - no questions asked. He's our son at heart. I know that doesn't make any sense at all to some of our family and friends, but that's how my husband and I feel. And to our son, that's his big brother, plain and simple.
We're not going to panic, we're not going to dwell, we're just going to wait to see what next week's news brings. Please just keep praying for him - for them. I can't thank you enough.
Much love and many blessings -

Thank you SO much, girls. I can't tell you how much your prayers mean to me. Yesterday, my DH called my FS and they had a little heart-to-heart. They made each other laugh, discussed a few important things, and just enjoyed talking without wife-and-kid interruption. When my husband hanged up the phone, he had tears in his eyes. He said our foster son has a really great perspective and seems to truly be holding it together. He's more worried about his wife and kids. They haven't told their mothers yet, nor the kids. They just don't want to worry anyone. Just waiting on the doctor's report next week and to know what direction they'll be taking. My husband just keeps telling me that everything is going to be fine, that our foster son is going to be okay because he HAS to be okay; that worrying isn't going to do any good, and that all the prayer that people are showering on him will not go unanswered. My parents even emailed and called yesterday, very concerned for our foster son and daughter. They are praying, too. I guess they realize just how important the "kids" are to us, after all. They are very worried, especially since our foster son has the diabetes - they know how difficult treatment for any ailment can be when you have diabetes. I'm not sure the "kids" are even thinking about that yet - I'm not saying anything to worsen their worry. One step at a time, right? I just wish this heaviness in my heart would go away. :) We'll be okay - like my husband and foster daughter say - our foster son HAS to be okay. I'm just trusting in God for everything.
Hugs -

Ohhhhh.... I can breathe - REALLY breathe!!!
The doctor just left a message on our foster son's phone - IT'S NOT CANCER!!!!!! The doctor apologized profusely and said that, "he doesn't know what happened, that this is some sort of fluke or something, but this is NOT cancer..." - not at all! It's all benign!! BENIGN!!!!
My foster daughter said she just felt a huge weight lift off of her. ME TOO!!! And that she knows this is the power of prayer, the power of God.... ME TOO!!!!!!
All our foster son has to do is go back to be sure that his scar from the surgery is healing properly. Everything else is normal. The mass behind his tonsils is just a benign thing - nothing to worry about.
PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD!!!
THANK YOU, JESUS!!!
And thanks to all of you for your prayers and support!!!! GOD is so AWESOME!!!!!!
I'm going to have a good cry of relief and talk with God for a while!
Hugs, love and many blessings -

We are all just so happy, relieved and thankful. God IS Good!!! :) I'm sorry I worried you all, truly. You have all been such an uplifting blessing as we faced this difficulty. I can't thank you enough for allowing my heart to take refuge in your thoughts and prayers!
Now, girls, let's keep crackin' and continue to lift our other farmgirl sisters and their loved ones up in prayer as they face their difficulties! Our job isn't finished until God has completed His marvelous works! :)
