Try craft gossip or tip nut, I know there is a pair of socks, or more like slipper socks, out there to crochet. Good luck

Look for a pattern that is toe up to crochet for the first time. Have you checked out Ravelry.com yet? It is a free website and you can get free or low cost patterns.
