I love vintage aprons, and have started a collection that I purchase at antique shops. I try to find unique full (not half) aprons from the 30's, 40's, and 50's. I trace them onto freezer paper to make a pattern. I buy vintage looking fabric and make them to put for sale in my shop at the Folk Center. I also display the originals. They have been a popular, good seller. I really enjoy making them and finding good homes for them with visitors who appreciate the vintage look.
It is fun to look in antique shops for aprons. They are usually under $20, so are inexpensive to collect. Feedsack and floursack fabrics are my favorites.

I too love looking in the antique shops for vintage aprons. I can usually find a lot for about $8.00 or so at a place up in MN where my daughter lives - great deal as far as I'm concerned. Then I give them away to my girlfriends as gifts.

I love those aprons. They are the "roll your sleeves up and get into work" aprons but....they are so pretty also!

Thanks for sharing, I bookmarked the page, am waiting for things to settle down after school started and then will be on my way to pick out some new material :)

Both are beautiful, but the second one would be best for me. I tend to get myself coated when baking or cooking!

I just saw the lady who runs the Vermont Apron Company at my farmer's market earlier this week. She was excited that so many of you liked her aprons, and was glad for the attention posting her link here gave it. It gave her stats quite the boost!
