Oh, Jess.... those look to be about my size. Nice! Have you worn them yet? Comfortable? Thanks for the picture. I love the color.

Thanks. They are pretty comfortable, I've only worn them a few times, so they need a little more breaking in.

These are the ones hubby got me for Christmas. We opened presents on the 23rd and he got me a size 10. (I do have ginormous feet!) They were too big though so I took them back to exchange them and couldn't find another of the same style. So I figured I'd at least try on a 9 1/2 in a similar style to see if they would fit better. Couldn't find a 9 1/2 and then I looked up high and saw one. It was the last of that size in the store. Lo and behold, it was the boot I wanted! And it fit! It was meant to be.

I love my boots though. So very comfortable!

Now Wendy, those are good looking boots!!! Who is the maker of those boots? OMGoodness, I love them. Is the bottom part of the boot light brown, or a greyish color? Lovely.
Thanks for showing us.

I keep forgetting to mention to Madeline: Yes, I did check out the pink boots at the site Sheplers you mentioned. How beautiful.... I like the light pink boots, but keep thinking about how dirty they'll get. But for $59.00!!!! Thanks for that information. That would be a perfect Valentine gift. Don't you think?

Annie S.

I've been to SD a few times. My sister lives in Rapid City. I've been to the rodeo in Dead Wood (as well as the casinos). She and I actually (accidently) ended up on pine ridge trying to find the Bad Lands (didn't know what the arrow head shaped signs were on the map). Anyway, my bro in law had a FIT!!! when we got back. OOOPPPPSSS!!! I love Rapid but my sister wants to move back east someday.

Hi Marly :) Those boots Wendy has posted are made by Ariat, I own two pairs, the pink & brown ones you liked & the ones that the shaft turns down. They are in the Fat Baby line. Very Comfortable Boots.

Madeline: Are the Ariat boots true to size? Thanks so much for the info, I'll check that out online. Are those boots made wider? They look wider than other boots.

Marly :) I have a wide foot. I buy the square toe, it has a lot more room to wiggle my piggies LOL & both my boots & Wendy's are square toe ;) I do have two pairs of boots with the point toe & they fit snugger, once I wear them for awhile they loosen up from heat & friction on the leather, making them a little more comfortable to wear. I do know that different brands of boots fit differently. I have been told to try a bunch on the next time I buy a pair. Also, I condition my boots every two weeks to keep them soft & to protect them ;) Hope this helps ?

Marly,
I have a pair of Ariat Fat Baby boots. I usually wear a 8 1/2 to 9. I ordered them in a 9 and they are very loose. Go to Amazon.com and look them up and read the reviews. It will usually tell you if they fit true to size or not.

Sorry, took me a while to get back here. Yep, those are Ariats. Love them and the fit. This is my first pair of boots so I can't really compare them to any of the others. I generally wear a 9 1/2 and these fit nicely at a 9 1/2. Maybe a bit on the loose side.

The bottom section is kind of a murky brown. The base color is the same brown, but it has a kind of second color on over the brown, not quite gray.

These are a shorter boot though, so can I still wear them skirts?

Thanks, Wendy. I like the shorter boot look. I really like the color of the boots you bought.

Lorena, small world. If you ever get back out here to the Hills, let me know and we can show you around - there's so much more than just Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse to see and do.
Yes, Rapid City is a very nice town. It's an hours drive to get up there from where we live, so we plan major shopping once a month in town to make the trip worth it. The town is growing like a weed too - lots of new shopping, stores, resturants, etc. going up.
Of course we have the beautiful Black Hills to enjoy all year round. We are so lucky!

Annie: My hubby and I went to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. How beautiful!!! The whole area was just breathtaking. Good to hear the town is growing so.
The only bad thing was the landing of the airplane. That was scary. LOL

Been to rushmore, crazy horse, wall drug, badlands national park (the correct way See previous post), keystone (LIW fan), devils tower, As far away as Belle Fursche (forgive my spelling). Oh it's so pretty out there. Would love to visit Desmet someday but that is in the eastern half. Maybe someday. Need to get my little man out there as well as my hubby.

The next time I vacation in South Dakota, I'll have a new pair of pink boots! Has anyone else bought new boots lately? I'd love to see the pictures.

I had to look online at these boots. Cute! I like the idea of slippers in a cowboy boot style. I am guessing they are super comfortable.

Colina: I have the rounded toe boot. Love them. I do have a dressy pair of boots that have the pointy toe, those hurt!

Ariats boots are SO COMFORTABLE!

I recently found a pair of Dan Post boots at the thrift for $5.00. I am just waiting for the cobbler to fix the heel :)
I also have a pair of Frye Engineer Boots (a Birthday gift from my honey), talk about a well-made boot!

I have one pair of dressier, pointed toe boots and one pair of square-toe Ariats with a work sole. I love my Ariats. In fact, I wear them more than any other shoe, especially when I'm working outside. My dressier boots are prettier than they are comfortable, but I still like wearing them for short periods of time.

I have my eyes on a new pair. Just saving my pennies. Should be able to get them in a couple of weeks, though. :)
