You know, you all have become so dear to me over these past couple of years. I feel closer to some of you than to some people I've known in-person all of my life! To me you all really are my farmgirl sisters! And I love not only "seeing" all of you online and sharing all that we do, but it's also pretty cool the way friendships have developed outside of MJF. You ALL are amazing - you inspire me and fill my heart in ways you will never know!

So, today, I was just thinking about you all and smiling and telling my son just how wonderful you all are, and how full my life is because of you. It's something I say, I guess, more often than I realize. And you know what that little bugger said to me? He said, "That's great and all, Mom; but you KNOW that most of those people probably aren't even women. They're probably a bunch of fat, old, balding men, sitting in their underwear on couches in their parent's basements, with big ol' stoagies hanging out of their mouths." Then he laughed so hard he had tears rolling down his eyes.

If it weren't for the twisted humor this kid has, which I KNOW comes from his father, and for his physical features, which definitely reflect my DNA contribution, I might otherwise be totally convinced he had been switched in the hospital at birth.

<sigh>

He is his Dad's son, God help me.

:)

So, having said that, if - Heaven forbid - ANY of you are as he described, please don't ruin it for me. I like the vision of each of you I have in my head - and that's how I'd like it to stay! LOL!

Love you, girls!

Oh my goodness! What a hoot! I gotta meet your son! Did he fall off the couch laughing so hard??
Made my day! However, I CAN assure that does NOT describe me, no way, no how!

That's so funny because my son said that to me 2 years ago when ever I signed up to become a member. He left out the stogie part.
But said so how do you know those are farm girls you are talking too. Could be a bunch of old perverts. I remember thinking oh gosh I hope not. LOL I come to realize after a couple of months y'all were the real thing. Just a bunch of dirt digging, boot stomping,
farm loving women with nothing on your mind but loving your home and family and living the country life like me.....LOL

What a great story Nini! Gotta love em'. My husband teases me and used to say similar things. Personally , I am one who is not on Facebook, never had one, dont think I ever will, nor do my children who are 12 and 14.
So what does MY farmily call this site you ask???????
"Mom's FARMBOOK".
LOL
Yup, our families can really keep us in stiches!
Thanks for sharing, and I,like CJ can assure you that your son's description does not fit me either--ha ha.

The sitting around in my underwear part is true!
This reminds me of a recent coffee meeting I had with a girl I graduated high school with. I hadn't seen her in over 15 years so we had a lot of catching up to do. I told her about my Farmgirls on the Loose adventures and trips I have taken. She was amazed that I run off all over the country to meet up with virtual strangers. She said "aren't you worried that they could be some crazed lunatics?"
I guess we are taking our chances but for some reason I just knew all the wonderful Farmgirl Sisters I have met have been great! Some are a little looney, but lunatics...hardly.

It is amazing how some people get a different image of who we are as farmgirls. My daughter thinks it is all about the Amish and pioneers. She thinks everything I do is related to farmgirls. She is basically right. No, you will not find any stogies here either. That is hilarous!!!!

Hahaha! Wow, I know your son isn't the only family member of us farmgirls who thinks that! How funny that he said that, though :) Thanks for the laugh! PS. I have pictures of myself/fam on the blog, as do many farmgirl sisters ;)
