Hey Farmgirls, I just got home from a week in Virginia to visit with my family. On Thursday, we had time to stop off at Vintage Virginia Apples which is located in Albemarble County where my hometown of Charlottesville is located. They specialize in hard ciders and grow some of the heirloom apple varieties known for making good cider. There were boxes of different apples to mix and match so I bought back as many as I could carry in a bag since we were flying. Hehehe, on the security conveyor belt, the apples rolled out everywhere and we had to stop it and fetch them all up! I got some pretty weird stares from others!!
A Farmgirl has gotta do what a Farmgirl has gotta do!! Right??
We have been eating the apples since Thursday for snacks and they are so delicious. Cripsy, juicy, crunchy! There is nothing better than apples picked ripe from the Apple Farm.
Then when I got home the new MJF Magazine was here and I had to sit down and look at all of the pages. Lucky me, there are several recipes given for stuffed apples. Have you seen them yet? They look delicious and I plan to try them out with these apples. Got my Mama's cast iron skillet ready and waiting!

Winnie Sounds like you had a wonderful time. We too pick apples each year but ours are ready in June and July. So too early for my MJF recipes this year. Have to save recipes for next years crop. Enjoy the stuffed apples! Yummy
