We bought off of a local Facebook tag sale an old White Mountain ice cream maker. You know the kind...heavy duty, with a motor, stainless inside, and wooden, New England-made bucket. It had everything, and though it is from the 70's or 80's, was working perfectly and in great shape. A friend of mine commented that it looks so nice, it could be set out as a kitchen decor piece. They still make replacement parts, so that is good, and a new one costs over $200 for the 6 quart size I have. It was in great shape, and how often does one make ice cream anyway? We only had to use a wire brush to clean some slight rust off the outside metal ring. It is not hand crank, but I figure those motors are like work horses and will last forever, like a Kitchenaid mixer. I only paid $20, too!
Anyhow, the only thing missing is the manual. Therefore I have no recipes or anything. I haven't been able to locate one online, either. Does anyone have a recipe or two they can post or share with me? Any pointers?
Thank you! Farmgirl Hugs, Nicole

I found a manual and some recipes on their website. The instruction manual is under Service and Support. Have fun!

Thanks so much, Stephanie! The link that the lady gave us who sold it to us no longer worked, and when we google our model number, we just couldn't find it. Sometimes it takes another pair of eyes.
Anyone out there want to share their favorite way to make ice cream, flavors, or advice to an ice cream maker newbie?

Nicole,
Here is a great recipe:
Vanilla Custard Ice Cream
2 cups milk ½ of a vanilla bean, split lengthwise 8 egg yolks, beaten ¾ cup sugar ½ teaspoon salt 4 Tablespoon vanilla extract 2 cups whipping cream (or heavy cream)
In a small saucepan, heat milk just until bubbles form around edges. Remove from heat; add split vanilla bean. Cover and let stand 20 minutes. Remove vanilla bean with a slotted spoon. Scrape the inside of the pod with the spoon and add to the milk. Discard pod. In a large bowl combine egg yolks, sugar, salt, and vanilla extract; beat with wire whip or electric mixer on medium to high speed until thick (about 5 minutes). Gradually beat in warm milk. Transfer to a large, heavy saucepan. Cook and stir just until mixture comes to boil; remove from heat. Cool slightly. Cover and chill, stirring occasionally. Stir in whipping cream. Freeze in an ice-cream freezer according to manufacturer’s directions. Makes 2 quarts.
