Not sure how this all works, but I will give it a try. I live on a couple of acres with a couple of horses, a goat, poultry, a dog, two cats, and one husband.
Some of the chickens think they are goats and lay in the goat stall; some of the ducks think they are chickens and lay in the chicken coops; while some chickens lay in the duck coop.

That's how it is with my critters too. No one wants to be where they're supposed to be. Greener grass and all that...
