Our first calf was born yesterday. It made me wonder what farm babies are making appearances on all my farmsister's farms. I thought it would be fun to share pictures.

Here's my new little guy:

Thanks everyone. We don't have any calves born in the worst of winter so I've missed having little ones to feed. This guy was born 11 days early. But he's healthy and happy :) Mama's doing good also. It'll be a bit before the next one is born so hopefully someone else will have some pictures to share.

Sweet baby calves and buttercups in bloom are sure signs of Spring! Oh and this morning the birds were all singing joyfully right outside my window. Thank you Heather and Krista for sharing your pictures.

Michele - he certainly doesn't look like he was early! I LOVE his curls. We did a little cross breeding last year with some Hereford bulls on a couple of our Holstein cows. I wanted to keep them all but I could only convince my husband to keep one. (He kept reminding me we're a dairy farm not a beef farm LOL!) And now that song is stuck in my head :)

Krista - I hope you get to keep 2 of them! It's fun watching them grow up.

My dad started with Hereford from the dairy herd. He wanted Hereford because they are easy to work with. Our Herefords have been very good mommas, easy to move around and work, and our bulls have been gentle. Good luck Heather and Krista with your babies.
