                      | To garden or not to garden.. that is the million dollar question.. I have been vacillating whether or not to do a Garden, or just down size my garden this year..
Hubby and I want to hit the road this summer and not having anyone to be able to watch over my garden makes it a conundrum..

But we took advantage of the lovely weather these past 3 days and cleaned up the garden,, so I am thinking maybe I will just down size and put in new timers and drip system...and just a few veggies,, tomatoes and bell peppers primarily..
My vining fruits are fine and don't need to do much fussing on them.

As for my roses, they took a hit this Winter and are not looking good,,, I am thinking of doing a hard prune on them and if they come back great, if not,, I love buying 'mini roses' at Trader Joes and can certainly plant new ones.

Well, enough lolly gagging, time to go back outside and enjoy what sunshine we have because we are expecting rain in a few days...

                      | Grace I think you hit on the perfect garden plan to downsize and only do a few of your favorite veggies. Enjoy all the adventures you will have and may your wee garden thrive. I know Ginger and Sissy will be right there with you.

                      | I agree - garden :) I think when you are home you'll miss it too much if you don't. You know you love those fresh tomatoes LOL!

                      | I agree with both Heather and Sara. Keep your garden and just make it smaller with your favorite stuff! I really think you would miss it if you didn't plant one.

                      | It does not have to be all or nothing. For me I prefer the concept of all or something, and many times something is the very best choice! Choose just a few of your favorite veggies making the care as easy as possible. Then travel on!
When asked “How are you?”, I reply, “Better than good!”

                      | I agree with everybody above. Having to downsize when the heat got too much for me with Multiple Sclerosis. I do patio pots and a raised bed. I still get my hands in the dirt and grow flowers and tomatoes and herbs.

                      | Thanks farm sisters… I am looking forward to just having one cherry tomato plant, one Roma tomato plant a couple of bell pepper, plants, and my favorite sunflowers. The sunflowers are for the birds. My grapes, gooseberries, and currents self produce, and I don’t have to fuss over them. As does my lemon balm And my hollyhocks. My asparagus are also popping up…Some of the strawberries are coming back, and my mind is if they survive great, if they don’t, no big deal. Again, I want to go out and play, but have just enough fun in the garden to make me one with mother nature. And besides, there’s nothing better than picking a couple of fresh tomatoes off the vine slicing them putting a little salt and pepper on them and just eating them as the juice drips down your cheek.

                      | Grace, it sounds like you have come up with a great compromise for this upcoming Summer. You should jump in your "road home" and visit some new places and explore. You never know what you will find!
