I have three baby chicks living in my living room since the day before Easter. We are only allowed to have so many in town, and I’m technically one over before the chicks, but some of my girls are 3-4 years old now and are slowing down. I’m planning on harvesting right before the chicks get introduced to the coop.
Today the babies got upgraded from the puppy kennel to the large wire dog crate. It’s interesting to see how much they have grown already!

Congrats on the new chicks! Sorry you have limitations on how many you can have though, but it’s smart to cycle them through so you don’t have a lull in egg production. I tried hatching fertilized eggs with a broody hen for my flock expansion. Unfortunately only one survived. I’m finishing up my coop expansion this weekend and will be ordering more chicks and may try an incubator for the eggs next time. Good luck with your babies!
