Thanks for your prayers. Dave's surgery has been scheduled for January 31st at 7:30 am. His stomach bug seems to be on it's way out, but he is very weak! He shared his cold with me - ugggg. I;ve been eating Airbourne, vitamin C, and now added Elderberry to the mix! HOt tea and our Honey, Went to the store today and bought all kinds of disinfection products to use. Opened our bedroom windows up wide, even with below freezing temps this morning to air our room out! Any other suggestions??? I don't normally get sick!
Thanks for you help and prayers.
Hugs, Ruth

Ruth, Slice a lemon up. Put one slice in your cup and the others in a small saucepan. Pour a can of Dr. Pepper over the lemon slices, and heat this until it is almost boiling. Pour into your cup and kinda mash the lemon slices a bit to release more good vitamin C. Sit and enjoy your cup of hot Dr. Pepper with lemon. After a couple of days you should be good as new! Our dorm mother used this remedy on us in 1962 when all 300 girls got sick.it works. Drink it once, twice or even three times over a couple of days. Enjoy!

Ruth, I am happy to hear that your cataract surgery went well ! Hopefully you and Dave can get past these nuisance cold and stomach bugs soon! With those sorts of things, it seems that tincture of time and treating the symptoms are all that you can do. The old stand-by recommendations for rest and lots of fluids seem to still be the best and most tolerated solutions. It is awful how miserable the common cold or stomach bug can make one feel for days and days.

I agree Winnie. Fluids and rest helped me as well as crackers.
I am glad to hear your cataract surgery went well Ruth and will be praying for Dave's upcoming surgery.

Thank you sistas :). Dave is feeling better just drained, I am feeling better this afternoon than I was this morning! yay!! I am taking elderberry syrup, lots of hot tea with our honey, gingerale, cocoa. The Dr Pepper tea sounds interesting! Will have to try that! Really have no taste! I slept like a rock last night, have not had a good nights sleep in days, it was so refreshing. I don't normally have any trouble sleeping!
Shannon, Prayers for Will's complete recovery! Everyone stay warm :)!. Cold and rainy here this afternoon! Praying we won't get the ice they are suggesting!!

Thanks Connie. Baylee, her mom and sister are on a special diet for 30 days. They are trying to figure out what is causing her to flare so often. they are trying to be supportive of her so she does not have to do the diet alone. Today was day one.It was a tough day for Had. And Julie wanted chocolate. 100% cacao is all they can have. No one enjoys bitter chocolate do they? Bay went to work with her dad, hubby, bapa and Todd. Bapa said she was tired this morning, but are her steak, veggies, etc that her mom fixed for her. I sent her a smoothie. Now I am drying fruit leathers and apples, so hopefully I can send that as well as a smoothie tomorrow. We are all trying to help her over the first week. She only weighs about 100 # and is 5' 10" tall. ..so she cannot afford to lose weight. She has tried to gain but it has not worked. Her face is also red and bumpy. Not fun for a young gal! She is fragile so every prayer is coveted. Thank you all.
Ruth I hope you will have perfect vision when the healing is complete. My husband had one eye done several years ago. I think it would be nice to not wear glasses!

I Thank the Lord!!! My Holly and Lily June did not get a scratch on them! A person ran a red light and hit them and kept going. A lady got a partial License plate, they were going fast. Her car was totaled because the whole front was damaged and bent the frame. She was on her way to Target on a busy, busy street in Memphis. Pray for her as she is getting another car today. I am meeting her to take her rental back and then back to Car Max for the car and we will be in Rush Hour Traffic! Pray for us! I don't drive in that traffic anymore, I'm used to my back country roads to small town Millington for my errands.

On my goodness Connie! It is getting so scary on the roads these days. People don't seem to value anything. I'm glad Holly and Lily June are safe, although Holly may be sore. Please tell her we are praying for them. Prayers for safe travels this afternoon.

Prayers for your girls, Marilyn. Sorry to hear they are having to go through that. Diets are no fun - you don't want something until you are told you can't have it.

Connie - so glad Lily June and Holly are okay. Prayers for you all.

Prayers for Ruth and all other farmgirls who need them.
