I have several celebrations today: I felt that change in the August air about five days ago, and each day since then. That tells me Autumn is coming...
It was so cool last night. I thought the night before was nice, but it was so nice last night...almost like light sweater weather.
My son and his family are finally home. They rolled in pretty late, because it is almost ten am and they are still asleep. I am thankful they are home.

I love autumn, especially the cooler air. And we do need that after our weeks of over 100 degrees. I now want to bring out some of my fall decorations to help speed the cooler weather along. LOL!

So glad your family is back home - safe and sound, Marilyn.

No roller coasters around me, either. I used to love roller coasters. Now that I am older, I am a bit more apprehensive about them. LOL!

Linda, I put one Autumn wreath up.(so far). Wade said Texas looks bad...dry, compared to where they have been. We had a nice visit after they were up and going.

I always give myself permission that September 1 is OK for me to bring out a few fall decorations. If I waited until it really got chilly, I would be putting them up along with the Christmas tree!! LOL!! Despite the continued hot and humid days EVERYDAY@#!, here are some true signs of Fall that change is already in the making, albeit quietly and slooooowly down here.

1. Our Shumard Oak tree has been dropping some of it's big fat acorns lately when we get those thunder storms with wind gusts.

2. Our local Pyracantha berries are turning orange and will be bright orange by the end of September. They are a favorite of birds and squirrels.

3. I have seen a few neighborhood Dogwood trees that are showing some of the berries are turning from bright leaf green to a yellow/orange on their way to being red by October.

4. The Cicadas are singing really loud now in the evening, nights and early morning.

5.Our local Seminole Pumpkins ( more like a butternut squash than a northern variety pumpkin, but delicious to eat) are ripe and in the local farmers markets and a few stores that carry local produce.

So, I am curious what signs of Fall are showing up at your house?

Winnie, I noticed a pecan on the ground, broken open, probably by a squirrel, not yet eaten but the nut meat filled the shell so full. It is early to be that far along.
Someone said the new Farmers Almanac says EARLY HARSH WINTER! Some are saying winter by the end of September.
People in New Mexico and Colorado are noticing signs of autumn also.
The fact that we had three colicky horses on Sunday...That was just crazy.
Now for my celebration: we have puddles!!! That means that we had some rain...Thank you GOD, thank you, thank you.

I don't know if they celebrate roller coaster day at the parks Carole. I do it from home as getting on a roller coaster would make sick. But I thought the photo was cute.

Btw, I have not seen one sign of fall here in the Mid Atlantic yet. The temps are still in the 90s with heat index holding in the upper 90s. I will start my fall decorating when I return from Ohio.

I guess you have to wait until your hubby gets home to start that fight Carole.

Have a good one.
