Today September 22 is:

Autumn equinox - Happy "Official" calendar fall everyone
Business Women day - Ha, a day for me to celebrate!
Elephant appreciation day - I love elephants! Wish humans would leave the elephants alone, as well as other wild life!
Hobbit Day! Did any of you read the Hobbit? Great book! I liked it better than Lord of the Rings. The third book in the series I found ... gasp ... a bore! To much war!!!!

Enjoy celebrating! Cheers!

Thanks Carole,
The Hobbit books were full of war and the movies even more so. especially the ones written for the movies.
I like Elephant day, the babies are so cute. I find that baby rhino's are adorable too.

At school this morning, we got the children together and I put four eggs on the floor, at 9:22am (according to my cell phone the egg I was touching stood still. The others continued to tip over as the children tried to get the same results. They were excited that our green egg was standing. At noon as the teacher was finishing up...I stepped out to invite the parents to come in and see our standing egg. None of them had seen this before. When I left at 2:00pm it was still there. We did put a chair over it so no one would hit it. We even asked the custodian not to bother it because the kids want to see if it continues to stand up. The custodian said he thought it would fall over , after 12 hours...We shall see.

Marilyn, I was going to stand an egg with you but I forgot. There's always next year and another Autumn equinox. Hope your egg is still standing this morning.

Like both and I am pretty good with stupid questions.

My sister brought eggs and a jar of her plum jelly for my British neighbor & her daughter. Betty lives in a small town thirty minutes outside of Paris but she is a good neighbor to my neighbors.

Oops, I forgot about the egg. When we arrived Monday morning it had laid over on its side and rolled about 14" from where it had been. I guess it got tired.
