I'm celebrating Creativity by making my Jubilee Apron - using Sunflower fabric for the main part of the apron and adark green with qwhite small polka dots for the ruffle and trim. I plan to add buttons as some of the trim.

Happy Earth Day! I'm celebrating by taking my banjo to Lilly's school and singing some song with the kids about Earth Day. They've been celebrating all week, so they're all pumped up. Nothing like a room full of enthusiastic 3 year olds to make you feel good about the future of our planet! Anyone else have plans for today?

Happy Day!

Amy, I know the kids enjoyed you coming and singing and playing for them. I love, love to hear the Banjo! I am not musically inclined at all, but I love music (well a lot of it :) )

Amy, I think you had fun today. Who wouldn't have fun with banjo music. We had a three year old (little brother) of one of our little boys, stay all morning. I had invited him. He was pure joy, but more needy than most of our group.

By more needy, I mean he needed a bit more help than our four year olds usually need.

I cut up all the bits and pieces of yarn I have been saving and put them out in the tree rows for the birds nest making. I also walked with the granddaughters to pick up road ditches for earth day.

I've done that with yarn scraps and very thin fabric scraps and my birds don't seem to like them.

Amy that sounds like you had a great day with the Banjo and all, I would love hear that.
Julie I have never tried the yarn and fabric scraps, I have cats in the yard but the starlings don't seem to mind though.
I might try that do you hang them up or just put them high up?

hugs

I checked what we could celebrate today and came up with these holidays for May 20:

Pizza Party day - perhaps a dinner plan?
Be a Millionaire day - I'm accepting donations to help me celebrate!
Bike to work day - I missed that one!
Pick Strawberry day - a bit early for around here!

Hey Carole a slice of Pizza would be a great way to celebrate Friday! We made through another week.
At school where I work that is a big accomplishment. It was a good week mostly there.
I would like a Sausage and pineapple pizza, now I am hungry yum!
Don't forget the salad! :D

hugs

Wednesday was our pre kindergarten/pre school graduation day, a day of celebration. Our four year olds were very sweet but very different personalities this year. Only three of the nine ever really tuned in at the same time. Then up on the very cute stage they behaved just like they did in class each day. Caps were on the floor as well as their medals and scarves. One little girl lay down as if to take a nap. Another was so mesmerized by the balloons, she could not focus. She was on all fours kicking her feet in the air so all could see her fluffy Petti coats and leggings. When asked what they want to be when they grow up...deep sea diver, doctor of humans or pets, a dragon a unicorn, etc. It was a ZOO! This all happened during my co teachers part in the program. I had their attention for four minutes during my part, then it was her turn. She had taught them some songs. Five, no she added a sixth. Well you know how short their attention spans can be! She gave up after song #5, because she was the only one singing.
The bright spot during all of this was that while I was sing song reading the beginning of each page in my book and they were finishing with a loud "Yes I Do!", I felt someone lean against my right arm. I glanced over and it was the three year old brother of one of our little boys. He wanted to hold my hand and be close. I finished the book, stood up to move and he followed. I sat in another chair and held him for the remainder of the program. Afterwards his mom just shook her head, and his daddy said, "Eli loves you, he really loves you!" I told him the feeling was mutual, in fact I really love both boys and big sister too. (When I was the director of the Lutheran daycare, their sister was two. At nap time each day the mats were laid out with lovies and blankets. She would stand, holding her blanket, with big sleepy eyes, until I could sit down in the rocking chair and rock her to sleep. No one else would do, she would wait for me. We never understood why.
I guess the bright spot of graduation day was that the parents were so focused on their own child, they did not see the chaos I was seeing. That is Good.

May 22nd is National Buy a New Instrument day. Also it is National Vanilla Pudding day. I won't be buying a new instrument but I might have a dish of vanilla pudding after playing the piano.

Marilyn, that sounds like a precious time with kids being kids. They are little and have to grow up too soon. Treasure those memories.

Hope your pudding was good Denise.
Yes the little ones do grow up too fast. I just saw a video of my grand daughter and they are changing more and more.

Well have a good Sunday.
