Today I am working on more crooked courthouse steps blocks, a Bonnie Hunter pattern. I am also going to make a couple banners for the swap on the main forum - one for the swap and one for me for my sewing room.

Perhaps I will try to finish one of the banners I'm making. I also need to finish my altered wood block.
We went to visit the Eye Doctor this morning. I have cataracts but they ate not ready to remove yet. So I must order new spectacles...
So I can see. My husband says his vision is good.

I don't like the new toilet. You have to hold the handle down a long time but not too long. Maybe I'm just not used to it yet.

Denise -- During my last serious back episode I got a lot of embroidery done.

Carole -- Lucky gal to have a log arm. DH bought me an air conditioner for my sewing room a couple of years ago and it's been heaven. No longer do I have to only sew in the mornings anymore.

Judith,
Think I'm going to put a window a.c. in my sewing room. We have central air but when it's cool downstairs it doesn't kick on and it still gets hot upstairs. It might help to put our small one in.

I have been signing up for swaps over at the main Forum and merrily crafting away. For me, I like to try and make most everything I include in my swap. It is a challenge for me and I like to keep things simple. My skill level is just past beginner, but I try and make the goal of keeping most of the Items homemade. I decided a few years ago that my goal for swaps was going to be an opportunity to learn new skills, work on what skills I do have, and share with another Farmgirl what is a reflection of my take on themes. I end up with fewer items in my boxes, but I hope they are found to be a snapshot of who Winnie is. Isn’t that one of the goals of doing swaps anyway?

That is an excellent way to look at it Winnie! If I know my partner well, I try to make things or put things in I know she will like. Honestly, I have never received a package I haven't loved everything I received, especially the handmade items. I know time and care was put into those items and really the swap itself. I am trying to improve my embroidery skills so that was my motivation for the dish towel swap I posted on the main forum.

Winnie, so well put!
And when they open their package, they feel the love and the thoughtfulness that went into the homemade/ handmade items.

Judith - sounds like the chain on the toilet flapper piece is too long. Just needs to be shortened a little bit so the flapper remains up for a couple seconds before it comes down to block the hole again.

My favorite packages are the ones that contain handmade items. I know all the time, talent and love that go into them and appreciate them so much. Denise, the embroidered dish towel you made me for the red, white and blue is beautiful work, I think you have accomplished your goal.

Thanks Julie. I'm so glad you like that towel. I want to learn some different stitches as well. There are some I have trouble with and I know practicing them would help.

Thank you everyone for your kind comments on my quilt.

I agree that hand made items are lovely. Winnie, I still have the hand towel you stitched for me when I was nominated FGM a few years ago. I just love it.

Well, I finished the hand binding on the Feed Sack True Blue quilt ... we had a couple of cool mornings that were perfect for hand stitching outside.

It is such a great feeling to complete a project. I'm now attempting to finish my vanilla sweater. I did finish knitting the last sleeve this morning. Once that was completed, I undid the bind-off of the body, as I felt it was to short, and started adding more rows.

Keep on creating .... it's so inspirational to read what you have been up to.

Farmgirl hugs,

Carol, your latest quilt turned out beautiful! I love the blue and white color scheme as well as the churn dash pattern. Will it be a bedspread? I am happy to hear that you still enjoy your FGOTM dishtowel I made for you. I still have and enjoy the apple dishtowel that you made me as well.

I finished the bunting for the swap. My partner likes green and frogs, frogs because of the meaning of FROG - Friends Rely on God. She is not in our henhouse, so I hope she like I made. What do you think? I may add some lace or torn fabric streamers between flags.

I was in a civil war quilting group for eight years until the shop closed. One year we were supposed to do a king sized sampler quilt. I didn't want to do a king size so I did two smaller ones -- one for the North and one for the South. South was finally finished today. I'm sorry if the flag offends someone but it is part of my family history. My granddaughter had already chewed me out about it.
I really miss that group -- we had a lot of fun sewing and eating together.

Carole, I love the blue and white.
Linda your banner is do cute.
Judith I am fine with your confederate flag in your quilt. Our grand kids who chew us out because they think we are too old to know Anything, need to remember that the Bible says they are to honor their elders. Mine have done me that way too. I helped put confederate flags on the graves of Civil War Veterans at a local cemetery.
I am not politically correct... I think my family history is something to celebrate. If our founding fathers and mothers had not lived and fought
