Nancy,,, I hear ya...
as I said, the 1st pair, red ones, knitted were a gift to me... I luv'd them so much that I bought a skein of alpaca wool from the local alpaca farm up the mountain,,, and had a dear friend knit them for me,,, in exchange she got to keep the remaining wool to make a 2nd pair for herself... Win-Win..
They are great...

Today was a Lazy Day,,, it rained all day... 'sew' it was a perfect excuse to go hide out in my sewing room and putter...
Got a little sorting, tidying up and sewing...
Todays little projects were...making a Seattle Seahawk pillow case and blankie for hubby dearest to snuggle with while watching His favorite Team on Sunday...

and yep, he'll be wearing his Seattle Seahawk cap and sweatshirt!

oh and FYI... most likely I'll be playing in my sewing room again... lol!

What kind of machine did you choose, Judy? The embroidery turned out great! Makes me want to put my big girl panties on and try mine.

Wow we have been busy bees this weekend.
Hi Judy... Your art work on the towel is really nice. A co-worker of Hubby has a machine that can do embroidery like that. She loves it too.

Hi Grace... The throws look really comfy and warm. I miss sewing. I just don't have the space for it. I have a sewing machine that I have had since I was 12. It is a Montgomery Ward Signature model. Surprisingly it still works. Told Hubby when we retire he is building me a she shed/coraft cottage so I can have a place for sewing and I don't have to clean up and put away so we can eat dinner. He has his man-cave where no girls are allowed unless bringing a sammich and cold drink. I need a she shed where no fellas are allowed unless bringing me tea and cheesecake.

Been busy today. While Hubby was watching football I was in the kitchen. Yes I found that I do have a kitchen in my house. When I bake banana bread I like to turn on my Google music while I work. I love to listen to country tunes by Mark Chesnutt, Tracy Byrd, Chris LeDoux, Dwight Yoakum etc. Hubby and my eastside neighbors hate it when I sing along. Can't help it. It's in my blood to sing loud and off key. Today, however, made my Christmas fudge. Yum! And sang loud and awful. The only bummer was I couldn't find my special Christmas tin. It tradition that I started last year. Will have to keep looking for it. It is probably in. Hubby's man-cave. Sigh...

Ok,,, today was football watching day for hubby. so I spent the day in my craft room.
I had fun using up some of my yoyo's...

I made some Yoyo peeps...
YoYo trees...

3-sided wool felt heart...

and last I made this yoyo pad..

I spotted this idea on 'pintrest'...... I used "insul-brite' instead a quilt batting so this can be used for a warm casserole dish ... but it can also be used for a vase or as a candle cozy... or what ever.

"Lucy" (my '53 featherweight) and I had a good day.... I need hubby to watch more football games so I can spend more time puttering! lol!

Grace, you were a busy bee yesterday! Love your yoyos. And what a great idea using insul-brite.

WOW! Great job with the yoyos and hearts, Grace. That is a great candle mat/hot pad, and I love your idea of using insul-brite instead of batting. I may ave to make one of those.

Today I hope to finish up a table runner, a quilt top, and a pillowcase for sure. The quilt top needs to go to my long-arm quilter ASAP. I also need to make a tablet case and a Christmas sports shirt for Ed (have the neatest Christmas truck fabric for it). Yesterday I made him a Christmas print surgical cap to wear with his tie and suspenders at the clinic.

It was all I could do to control myself from buying a yard of everything... yep.. I am the "1yard Princess"... .. I can't resist buying a yard of fabric cuz you just never know when you will need it!!!! Lolol!

Oh and I used a 'dinner' plate for my 'circle '...& 18 yoyos... but you could make the yoyo pad smaller or bigger...
I hand stitched ( tacked) the yoyos to the circle first and then I stitched them together where the yoyos met up with each other.
Hope that makes sense.

Grace, I like to buy 1 yard of fabric too. I did that one time. Then when I figured out what I wanted to do with it there wasn't any more. However, there was a website on the fabric so I emailed them to ask them where to get more material. I got a response, the lady said they had some in the warehouse and would send it to me. I got enough material for a bedspread, two small valances, two chairs seats, and a curtain for a small window in the bathroom. And she didn't charge me a dime! It never hurts to ask.

Judy.... now that is good PR on that fabric company's part... and how wonderful to be able to score enough of the fabric to have a field day stitching!

You are so right, it doesn't hurt to ask... companies for the most part want a good repor with their clients and future clients.

HOHOHO!

Grace, just reading through the posts. I got a Brother combination sewing and Embrodery. So far I really like it! Had to laugh, I put our names on some towels too, just for practice. Also did some towels for my son-in-law's secret Santa.

Grace,
You are like the energizer bunny! LOL! I love everything you do. I made the yo yo snowmen too. I put an orange bead for the nose. Like your tree too.

Everything you all do is amazing. I love reading about it all.

I just finished mitten silverware holders for my DIL. Made them from felt and then decorated them. Finishing touches on 2 Christmas quilts. Nothing like the pressure of the last minute! LOL!

Merry Christmas everyone!

I have been trying my hand at tatting. I tried shuttle tatting first but then tried needle tatting. It is much easier but still a little tricky. Don't have anything worthy of posting yet. If I can get the hang of it I would like to outline my sisterhood badge in green thread.

Grace, I love all your latest yo yo projects especially the mat!

Nancy, a goal of mine has been to try needle tatting. I have the supplies. I just haven't gotten the hang of shuttle tatting yet.
Good luck with yours.

Hi Judith

I never got the rhythm of the shuttle and if you make a mistake with the needle it is a little easier to fix.
