So many awesome ideas and projects completed here! I haven't been on this thread for awhile and I have missed it! Love the sitting area Jaime. All looks good. CeeJay I want to make the glamping lamp you made! I have an old cast iron candle holder like that. Awesome!

I used an opaque Mentos gum container to hold a few floss bobbins that I'm using for a cross stitch project. The top snaps shut and they are secure.

Vanessa, that is a great idea!

I may have mentioned here before, but can’t remember. I have a friend who carries Epi pens. She gives me the plastic containers for my knitting students - they are perfect for holding crochet hooks!

I have been making drawstring backpack/sacks for part of my grandkids Christmas present. Actually I will give them a card and money tucked in their bag I choose for their personality. I am very big into repurposing and used old leather coats, jackets, and other shirts/blouses that I like the fabric. I even used recycled cording off of old cheapy drawstring advertisement bags. I can't have more than a dollar in each one because I purchased all the clothes on quarter days at our local thrift store. Here are examples of what I am doing. I would love to find a market to sell these. If so, how much do you think I could sell them for. Most of them are lined with the same fabric in lined coats. I also have plain black ones with embossed designs. I have some faux leather tooled fabric I am going to try one with. Love doing these kind of project. Wish I could find a way to make a living doing this kind of thing.

We bought nightstands from Walmart, but I found that they were too low for our bed (you'd think that companies would be aware of this..). So I bought 8 legs from Lowe's, stained them, then attached them to the bottoms of the stands. Now I can reach for my glasses without having to lean down so low that I practically fall out of bed.

Kem, have you looked into Etsy?

Vanessa, I have not looked into Etsy. I need to do that. I am making these like crazy and better find a place to try to market them. I like your bed side stand. A person really can't tell that is not suppose to be that way.Good job.

Cozy Nana,

Very cute cinch back packs bags! Etsy is amazing! I'm addicted to that website! I'd pay around $25 for one of your cinch back packs! Love the embroidered one!

Doxie Mom,

Your nightstands turned out great! Fantastic alteration!

April, I will look into Etsy. I had thought about it before, but just didn't get it done. I am having so much fun making these cinch backpacks. I better find an outlet soon or I am going to be overflowing with these and where to store them??????

It is so cold here, I took pity on the birds at my feeders and turned our dog's old metal food dish upside down and filled the circular area with warm water. I figured that they could either perch on the rubber edge or land on the flat middle to drink.

my last repurpose was an old quilt rack. I needed something by my front door to put our boots on, and hang a few things from for the winter. I had the rack and was going to thow it out. I sat it by the front door before thowing it out, and decided I liked it there. So far it is working until my husband can find the right wood and build me something there.

Love all the talent and ideas here!

We have a large trash can in our master bath. It collects the trash from the smaller ones in my daughter’s bedroom and bath, before trash goes downstairs to be taken to the dump. I have to have a lid, so dogs and cats can’t get in, and because the litter bags would smell if there was no lid. I want my animals seen, not smelled, lol! When you walk in my home, you should not smell that we have pets! ANYWAY, the plastic one we had was broken, the lid no longer opened when you stepped on it. It was nothing special, and kind of bulky. My hubby wanted me to find something more “streamlined”. I found a vintage hamper with a lid from the 1950’s, might have been a large diaper pail back in the day. Anyway, it is cute, and works perfectly! A regular trash bag fits great, and because of the size, the trash bag doesn’t “fall in”. Now to solve that problem in the kitchen! Here’s a photo from the junk-tique store; it stands about 3 ft.

It has been a while since I have been on the forum and am blown away with all the farmgirl innovation and repurposing talent! I wanted to share a couple of ugly arm chairs that I found at the thrift store and reupholstered and painted. What a difference a little paint and fabric can do. Now they live happily on my front porch alongside my repurposed crib settee. Can you tell that plaid is my favorite color?

Thank you for all the compliments! I originally made these chairs to sell in a booth at a local antique store but fell in love and kept them for my porch!

At an auction I got a box of assorted linens that included these pillows. I've removed the stuffing and washed it to make new pillows, and sewed up the openings to make doggie beds. They are still slightly padded and have the Tina the Wiener seal of approval.

We have 5 hummingbird feeders in the yard. I wanted to hang one away from the others, but didn't have time to buy a shepherd's hook. My mother-in-law had these wire fences, so I set up 4 of them in a square, then zip tied 2 to the top to make a house. The hummingbird feeder hangs from the apex. They've discovered it and there's a bit less fighting over feeders.
