Lye is very hard to find but if Amish live in the area it's a bit easier. I found mt lye at Ace Hardware. Ruthie Ann

Go to a hardware store. It's in the plumbing isle usually. :)

My hardware store sells it. The bottle says 100% lye. Luckily it's stocked on the shelf. I pay just under $5 for it. I did have a friend who said they buy theirs in bulk through a cleaning service supply company for a cheaper price.

Ordering online incurs extra shipping/handling expense, usually- due to the nature of the product. Just something to remember if you get excited by a low price, then see it doubled (or more) to get it to your door.
