I made the classic apple pie in MaryJane's current magazine issue this weekend. The pie turned out beautifully and was a huge hit with all. The crust was flaky & easy to work with. The filling was delicious. This is the first time I pre-cooked the apples for a filling. My worries that the filling would be mushy turned out to be unfounded. The pies 30 minutes in the freezer prevented a soggy bottom during the bake. The lattice instructions were very helpful and this is the best looking attempt I've ever had making one. I finally have my go-to recipe for apple pie!
A huge thanks to MaryJane for such a great recipe. I can't way to try the other pies in this Oct/Nov 2021 issue!
