| My favorite flowers are Lilacs. We had them along one side of our yard growing up in Illinois. Unfortunately, they do not grow well in Texas. |

| Linda, lilacs are my favorites too. We had them back in Jersey. There were white ones growing in the woods and we had planted 3 that were quite big when we left. I planted one here this year so hopefully we will have some in the spring! |

| I have a purple lilac in my backyard that my mother started from hers. She gave it to me when I moved here in 1986. It smells so good when it is in bloom. |

| Lilacs, they smell wonderful! They will grow and thrive in Texas. Out in the pan handle...where they have cold winters. I remember wearing wool skirts and sweaters in autumn and winter, and up until Easter. We lived in Snyder. Lilacs surrounded our play area at school. In the sixth grade we played baseball out there, or listened to our teacher read a book while we ate pomegranates or sucked on lemons. We went to a neighbor hood school, so everyone went home for lunch. Our teacher was cool. He was young himself. So much different from our fifth grade teacher. |
