I had to go outside and bring in firewood the other day, I just put on whatever I could find, brown and white striped socks....with purple slip ons, a bright green dress that hung below my pink apron...and also black longgys(to my knees)....my jacket wasnt much better..... my DH pulled up right when I rounded the corner riding our black rider lawnmower with our red garden cart behind, full of wood... He just stood there and laughed..then quick came and helped and kissed me allover( )...all the while saying, "My little farmgirl"!!! YEP!!! True blue I am....

I would have loved to have seen that combination outfit! Thank God for wonderful husbands like yours. You should have got him to take your picture, then you could have posted it for all of the Farmgirls to see. LOL Marly

When we lived in the Arizona desert heard a rattlesnake rattling under the tree in our front yard. It was still fairly early in the morning, I had a toddler daughter . . . and was in my ruby red nightie. Grabbed the 44 magnum pistol and put on my hubby's cowboy boots (to protect my feet and legs in case the snake struck) and headed out . . . shot that sucker too!!!! Desert Farmgirl Fashion!! CJ

Sometimes I dress like that on purpose. I like to jump on the ride on mower in bright yellow overalls with a pink thermal shirt, and my prairie bonnet, with two braids peeking out, and big dark movie star glasses. Or I'll mow in full victorian garb! Cars will actually slow down to check me out. It's a riot!!!!!!

| I had a situation similar to CeeJay's last winter. I was getting dressed for work one cold morning. I glanced out the window and saw a coyote trotting toward my horse barn. I grabbed my rifle, went out on the porch and shot him... dressed only in a sweater and panty hose. Quite the fashion statement. Good thing I don't have any nearby neighbors! |

Oh that is just funny. When I was pregnant with my son it was sooo hot out, our AC was on the fritz, so I was walking around (inside the house mind) in this striped one piece long underwear thing of my husbands that I had cut the legs and arms short on because I was just miserable. My husband came home and burst out laughing, said I looked like a blue bee. It probably wasnt the most flattering ensemble for a hugely pregnant woman...

Reading all these post is so much fun!! You made me laugh so much!! All Of you should see me when I'm at home and outside. I do my goats in my night gown, with bright colored green yoga pants, and my farm boots. Then I'll change to a long skirt, what ever shirt I can find, and a sweat shirt. oh, and fuzzy socks. I'm a sight for sure! :) I'm not always dress this way but some days I am. :) Hugs. Channah

It was cold in south Texas this morning and I went out to take care of the horses in my bright pink carhart quilt-lined overalls a pink Clinton Anderson Hoodie and pink plaid muck boots. with a gray stocking cap that said Pirate Varsity on it. Then I proceeded to go to the post office and Christmas shopping before I headed home. I got a few looks I can tell you for sure. I kept telling myself it was the hat.

I had a cow down one morning, she was in real trouble, all I had on was a wifebeater tanktop (streched out and full of holes)that I sleep in with a pair of panties that if I remember right had some holes also and my muck boots. I'm on the barn phone calling for help, and here come the neighbors, and me forgetting what i was barely wearing, all I was thinking about was my cow. Paul and his two sons pull up and jump outa their truck, paul all but tackles his 2 boys yelling for them to turn around and close their eyes, and Paul himself with his eyes shut tight, and I'm thinking whats wrong with you people, till I looked down and all but died from embarressment. Needless to say I yelled I will be right back, ran and pulled clothes on, and we got her free and up without another word said. Needless to say, I was the talk of the town for awhile, and my husband had heard the whole story at work from some guy that came in with a truck that was running hot, talking about the crazy women with almost no clothes on with a trapped cow, then the guy mentioned the neighbors and the rest was history. For days he would call me from work and ask if I was dressed today or was he gonna hear another story, lol.

I have never been known for my fashion trends but I do have to admit clothing at the Funny Farm is spotty at best. One day while dressed in my typical jeans and tee I notice one of my Llama ladies out in the far pasture in a terrible state - a baby on the way and she was down and crying. As I jumped the gate and ran with my flip flops I reach my sweet gal in much distress. Now pulling a llama cria is not a hard task but this little guy was stuck sideways. As I reached in and turned him as 25 llama aunts, neices and sisters watched on I now had to summon up all my strength to get this guy out before it was too late. I kicked off my flips flops and with one foot on each side of her back side I pulled with all my might. With all those slippery fuilds I could not get a good grip, so off went my tee and around those long little legs it went. Another huge pull and out came the sweet one. Now was the race back to the house to clear his airway and get him safe. I took that tee wrapped it around his chest and away I ran barefoot and topless. As I rounded the corner almost to the shop door who greeted me there but my shy UPS guy. His face turned all red, he stammered and sputtered because did I foget to mention - at the Funny Farm bra's are only worn when going to town. It took many years before this sweet man could ever look me in the eye's and for many years that story was passed from farm to farm about the strange llama lady who live at the Funny Farm.

The hardest part was when I ran into him and his wife at the local feed store - his face was so red and the wife just was laughing her head off - she said "So your the Funny Farm Lady"..." I heard all about you and your animals" I smiled an invited them over for lunch and she loved my shop, purchased some of my llama yarns and even took home one of my pups that where for sale. So all in all I still can make money with my top off!!! Not bad for a gracefully aging farmgal.
