Hey Ladies!

I thought I would revive our topic here since it is a new semester and for some a new quarter. What classes are you taking?

I am taking Intermediate Accounting (second part of a two part course), Marketing, Management, and Government and Non Profit Accounting. It should be an interesting semester and for the first time in YEARS--- NO MATH CLASSES! Hurray! I can't tell you how THRILLED I am!

Oh lucky! I have a math this semester. Yuck. I also have Lifespan Psych, Native American Experience, a speech/ communications class, Small Group Behaviors, and a nursing class. I tranferred schools this semester as well, from a community college to a small Catholic liberal arts school. I am really excited!

That is awesome, Elizabeth! Those sound like really interesting classes! Are you taking them online or in-class? All of mine are online through the local university.

I am taking classes on campus. I am very lucky with the new post 9/11 GI Bilin that I get a monthly allowance while taking classes so I don;t have to work. Gives me more time to spend with my daughter. The school is all women, so it is a nice change from being stationed on a Marine base! It is nice to be in an environment of female empowerment that is faith based. I am going for my Bachelors in nursing, with an Art Therapy minor. Really looking forward to it!

Hi Elizabeth- one year or possibly 3 semesters after this semester is over. It depends on how heavy I want to do classes and I might take some summer classes so I could be part of next summer's commencement. How about for you?

I think I will be in school forever! I have had to tranfer schools so many times since we move so much. I am staying put now until I am done though, which means my daughter and I will have to stay here when my husband is due to rotate again. He is applying for an officer program, so he would be in training for 2 1/2 years anyways though, so I could finish my Masters in that time too. The school I go to has a MSN/ MBA dual degree, so I may just think about it! It would be like 2015 (!) by that time though!

Elizabeth- I know what you mean! It can be so frustating to move and transfer so many times and it always seems like the new college never gives you full value for your credits. It is SO frustrating.

I just got done doing some really hard accounting homework. I am really glad that is over, but the scary thing is I have two accounting classes and they are both really hard. I am looking forward to when the knowledge starts to sink in! LOL

I am off classes today. This first week was intense! I have 6 classes. Whew!

On a good note, I am moving Rosemary to the daycare on campus, and she can start Monday! It will be nice to have her close!

No Masters here either, but I plan on pursuing one soon. My school has a dual MBA/ MSN program that looks interesting.

I should be doing that Alee! I am going to start hitting it pretty soon! The school I transferred to does everything SO different than what I am used to. It will take some adjusting, but will be worth it in the end!

Hi Ladies!

How are all the other College farmgirls doing?

I am so swamped under right now. Tomorrow is the most terrifying exam. I am so afraid I am going to flunk it! I am working hard tonight to get all my other classes brought up to speed. I have several article to read, some discussion postings to write and I have already written two one page papers and I have 4 more to write this week in addition to two accounting exams and a management exam! Next week I think I only have one exam! This is getting to be a bit crazy around here!

Alee your work load sounds like my daughter's , she is a special ed major always doing lessons plans and projects. makes me glad to be a history major, work load is not too bad just a few papers to write. this semester I have a book review to do on The Year in The South for my Civil War class. it is a lecture class so you just get hand cramps from writing. Am going to be doing an internship at the college's Historian House though, excited over that, want to get some hands on archival experience.

HI Penny!

Welcome back to the college scene! Online classes can be amazing and very informative. I love being able to take tests when I have time and such. The biggest thing is really evaluate your syllabus and allow extra time for indepth reading and note taking. If you have any questions- email or call your professor right away. And if you can find someone who wants to be a homework buddy through your online class- that can be very helpful as well.

Patricia- yes, the course load has changed a lot this year. Lots of group work and papers!

Elizabeth- Spring break is *supposed* to start today but one of my teachers didn't get the memo. So all my other classes are on break for this week, and I still have lots of work that has to be done for my Marketing class. Then we go on break for Marketing in time for the other classes to come back online! Crazy!

Margo- I like the quarter system better than the semester system. Are you going to try to take most of your courses online or only some of them?
