Thanks Denise and Winnie. You were an educator, Winnie! The crazy lady is lacking! Last year the students were struggling, when they discovered that the crazy lady was not even teaching from the $1,000 worth of books they each had to buy and read. She had chosen a $92 book to teach from. So no wonder they were struggling! I've been there flipping through the pages I had read, wondering what the prof was talking about! Anyway, even tho there were about sixty test takers she did not do a study session with them at all. They had to get together with another student or students and do their studies. Bay said she is under contract so they tried to put her in a place where she could do the least damage. Thanx k you for praying for her.

Latest update from Darlene's daughter:

Update: 9/5 12:00pm
Spoke to mom this morning just before 8am, she was getting ready to eat breakfast.
She was still kinda out of it but vitals were good.
She had a fever last night but they got it under control with ice packs and tylenol.
She currently has a temporary spacer in her knee area that contains antibiotics and she has to wear a knee immobilizer until she gets her knee replaced. No bending of the leg for her, but she's allowed to put weight on it. After the antibiotics run their course she'll need the knee replacement surgery we already knew she needed.
She- and I- truly appreciate all the prayers and well wishes˘˝

Her name is Angelina, and I'm not a friend on FB, so I cannot see the details.

I believe Angelina has the twins and lives fairly close by. I don't know how far Darlene is from them though.

Well they are close but not that close, if you consider they have to cross Oregon, then add the distance into each state. I know Darlene has ridden the bus to her house the past several years at Christmas. Then she rides The bus home once more.

This was on Facebook today.
Update: 9/6 9am
I didn't update more yesterday because mom was finally getting some much needed sleep and I only spoke with her that morning. Thankfully Nurse Amanda has been so great about taking the time to speak with me everytime I call and explain things and kindly answers all of my many questions.
I did find out that she'll keep the spacer in her knee and need 6-8 week's of IV antibiotics and then will be checked after that to ensure the infection is totally gone before proceeding with replacing her knee- which will probably will be done in Redding.
I spoke with mom this morning just before 8am. She's still uncomfortable and feeling pain but definitely better and doing ok. She had an uneventful night- in a good way. Her vitals are good and she's getting perkier and more oriented since the surgery.

,oh, I forgot to tell you ladies that prayed for my Baylee that when she got to school yesterday, the teacher said she had decided to wait until Monday to give the test. Bay was a bit disappointed, because she wanted it over but realized it gave her more time to go over her info and do some more math before Monday. So once again I'm asking you to pray that she can make that 100 on Monday! If it is God's will!

I'd want to get it over with, too...but this is a blessing, I'm sure! Praying she will ace her test!

Congratulations to Baylee!

I think I saw a post that Darlene is going to a rehab for 6-8 weeks and then will go to Redding for her knee replacement surgery. She would be getting her Ipad while there so she may be posting when she is feeling up to it.

Please keep the prayers coming for my nose. I will be having 20 radiation treatments in Oct/Nov. Fitting for the mask is Oct 4, and then about a week or so later I will start the treatments. They told me the treatments are about 10 minutes long each day and I would get a sunburn-like burn on my nose that will show up about halfway through the treatments. Have no idea what time of day they will be able to make my appointments, so we will be basically tied to home for a month. After these are done, I might need plastic surgery, depending on how the treatments affect my nose. Needless-to-say, I am very apprehensive about everything. Ed keeps calming me down. LOL! I am so thankful to have him here - I frustrate easily and he is very even tempered and calm. LOL!

Thanks, Denise for the update on Darlene.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers and comments about Baylee.
This morning she worked for me for two hours, which I paid her for. She had to get her grandma up, feed her, etc., and then feed horses for her dad, before she could come help me. I enjoyed her so much... even though half of her time she was in the kitchen working, while I was in he back room vacuuming.
One of these days my house will be cluttered less and I will be so happy. I just never knew it would take a month. Of course if I had tackled it ten years ago there would not have been as much stuff and I would have been younger, with more get up and go.
It has been fun to unearth small toys that belonged to my son as well as his girls.

Linda -- I'm keeping you and your nose in my thoughts. Keep us posted on the progress.

About Darlene -- continuing good thoughts. Why is she going to rehab before the replacement? I would think rehab would be more useful after. Just wondering.....
