Winnie I am so glad you will be home for the Jubilee. You always come up with the best ideas that I like to copy.

Sara, it is alot of fun to plan. My 2 youngest daughter's (Valerie,13 and Sarah,10) are getting excited for me to join the sisterhood so they can start earning badges with me.Sarah keeps asking "Is it time to join yet?" I tell her not yet, soon. (Daddy has to get paid first) Then we talk about Jubilee and Sarah wants to wear a pretty dress and a hat,and have tea like in the "olden" days..

Winnie, which book is it? You had me at crochet pattern. :)

Debbie joining the FarmGirl Sisterhood is a good thing but not necessary to join in on the Jubilee. I'm a member so I can experience all that's offered. Membership is required to earn badges.

Sara, I understand that..I sortof mix my thoughts together. Sorry if I confused you. I've been looking around the site and saw you could join the Sisterhood and work for badges. A bit more digging and I asked if they wanted to join in with me as a Farmette and a Cultivator. Needless to say we are impatiently waiting for payday.

I'm a tad late on the conversation, so doing a bit of catching up.

Mary Jane, love that bio! It's timeless! It put a smile on my face too! [:D)] I cannot wait for both books to be published!

Mary, I love the rooster theme! Oh, I need to find rooster fabric for an apron! I'm a hen girl myself, but I can do this! lol

Cheers!

I absolutely LOVE the rooster/hen theme. But I have to tell you a story. The first year I made an apron and baked some bread it came time to deliver them.what a hoot...the young mom didn't know what the apron was for. I could hardly wait until I got home so I could laugh.

Thank you all, not sure I understand the Jubilee but I am a fast learner. Sorry to ask this, but what is a mini apron? Are we talking Barbie, American Girl or child size apron? What is the approximate dimension?

Congratulations MaryJane on the book deals, I look forward to reading them!

Thank you Sara, I love the photos showing the wide variety of mini aprons.

For other newbies I found some specifics that might be helpful. Apron size is approx. 5" wide and 5-6" long depending on style ... not including the ties... ties on each side should be about 6-8"(not incl.waistband) so the aprons can be tied onto a object for display. NOTE: There are patterns available for mini-apron ornaments - Simplicity 1957 and Simplicity 2748. There are also free crochet patterns on Pinterest. You can use these or design your own half-aprons.

One more question to past mini apron participants...do the aprons have to be half-aprons or can they be full too?

Jana, the former mini apron participants were in mini apron swaps. Linda 'Quiltee' is hosting a new mini apron swap and she has list of the requirements for the swap.

The mini aprons we are talking about for the Jubilee are for our own banners or to gift if we choose. There are no rules for our Jubilee banners. Design your mini aprons and banners to suit yourself. I made three half mini aprons and hung them between cinnamon sticks and hung in my china cabinet.

Those are cute Gracie! I made several of those "bottle" aprons several years ago. They were cute but tedious!

Way to go, Beth. On my way to Jubilee - I like that. I may have to borrow that saying from you.

My mini-garden is doing good. Two of the hen n/ chickens are blooming. I didn't know they would do that.

The two cilantro plants are growing. Will harvest a little along than let them go to seed for coriander.

My mini-garland is hanging in kitchen china cabinet - 5 aprons - 4 tea towels - 1 clothespin bag.

All I need now is some rooster fabric for another Jubilee project.

Girls, my trip to Spain has me seriously behind in Jubilee preparations, but I will be focusing on it now the month of April. All of you have given me lots of ideas. The past two Jubilees, I have been on the road so this is my first one at home and I want to make it special.

I have some rooster fabrics, I may need to make another apron or something else useful. I do need a plastic bag holder for the kitchen, maybe I should make that.
