I just bought a pair of muck shoes at Tractor Supply yesterday. The 9's were too short, so I bought the 10's. (They didn't have any half sizes.) (I know, I know...I have really big feet.) Then last night wearing them out in the mud, they kept slipping off at the heels. Anyone know of a way to make too-loose shoes snug? I was wondering if thick insoles might help.

You can buy heel "bumpers" that stick to the heal of the boot That can help them fit better.

just put a Dr. Shoal type cushion in them....they will also be softer on your foot inside.

I have the opposite problem, small feet, and found a size 5 that fit just great at Tractor Supply a few weeks ago. Yeah !! Good luck finding a way to make yours fit better.

Tammy- I have small feet too! Sometimes a 5 fits, but I did notice that after my pregnancy 6's seem to be my new size.

Have you tried the gel boot inserts? they at least are take-out-and wash kinda things. They may help.

Hee Hee I got mine at Tractor supply too. I wear size 8 1/2 and bought a size 9 they work pretty good but are a bit floppy I will try the inserts too.

I second the big sock idea! I have a pair of work boots that are too big for me, so to avoid a blister on my heel, I borrow my husbands snowboard socks. Very thick and cushionie, they really protect my feet.

One of my pet peeves is that all of the things made for farmboys do not fit farmgirls. Not at all. And that nobody makes the same things that fit women. The rain suits- my sleeves are about six inches too long, coveralls, and mud boots. Tractor Supply does have some cute ones that are more for women. A few years ago some glove maker came out with work gloves for women and they said they were like the mens work gloves but sized for women. Great since the fingers in my mens gloves were about an inch too long! The first day I put a pair on to move hay bales the leather in the palm ripped. I do not think they realize how hard and heavy some women work. If anyone knows where you get work clothes for women let me know.

And when you do find good solid work things for women (even dare I say stylish) you are going to be paying a LOT more for it! grrrrr.
Jesse, I vote socks!
Alee, yeah...what about that?? Used to be a 5 1/2 now I'm up to a 7 (in heels). If I'm lucky a 6 1/2 will fit in flats...more often than not though, I'll need a 6 1/2 wide. :-(
