Project of the Week

Edible Play Clay

Makins for Play Clay

1/2

cup smooth peanut butter

1/4

cup honey

1/4

cup powdered milk

1/4

cup unbleached flour

  1. Combine all ingredients together in a bowl; mix well.
  2. Turn dough out onto a clean surface and knead until smooth.

For the baker and candlesticker maker in your family, try my edible “play clay” (not really for baking). Kids can easily sculpt critters or even alphabet letters. They can decorate with chocolate chips, carrot curls, and sunflower seeds. And it doesn’t matter if they nibble.

If dough gets too soft or sticky after hours of play, place it in the refrigerator for 10 minutes.

Or make Ants on a Log by replacing the flour with crushed graham crackers, then fill celery sticks with the mixture and top with raisins.
